Punks of AI: The first 2 parts of our first episode drop today🎙️

We’re thrilled (and slightly terrified) to share the first ever episode of Punks of AI — our new podcast about the weird, wonderful, and very human side of artificial intelligence.

We built Punks of AI as an antidote to the doom, gloom, and corporate waffle that so often surrounds AI. It’s our way of finding the joy, the chaos, and the curiosity in all of this — the stuff that makes people want to explore, not run for the hills.

This is our first outing as podcasters, so it’s as rough and ready as you’ll ever hear us — but it captures exactly what we’re about: people, possibility, and play.

In the opening episode, we meet Phil Birchenall, AI explorer and founder of Diagonal Thinking. Phil talks about his love of music, the parallels between the creative revolutions of the 1980s and today’s AI moment, and how he ended up becoming an OpenAI celebrity after building a tutor chatbot for his daughter. He even brings us an original song, made with a little help from the machines.

After that, things get delightfully unhinged. We dive into:

  • Food Heaven & Food Hell – where AI creates dishes that should never exist.

  • AI Hack of the Week – our favourite weirdly useful discovery.

  • The Algorithmic Confessional – where we read real chat histories from our own ChatGPT accounts (and instantly regret it).

  • AI Dating – a debate on whether AI can play a part in human relationships.

  • Louis’s News of the Week – wrapping up the strangest headlines from the world of AI.

It’s messy, funny, honest, and completely human — exactly how we like it.

The first two parts of Punks of AI: Episode One are live now.
